The Press file have sighted a press statement released by the Communication officer for the National Democratic Congress, NDC Mr. Joseph Appiah (Ammonia) in the Akontombra District over an allegation levelled against some members of the NDC in the Akontombra Constituency causing disaffection in the NPP party in the Akontombra Constituency by some faceless individuals.

The Press Release

The attention of the NDC in the Sefwi Akontombra Constituency has been drawn to a news report from some faceless individuals in the Sefwi Akontombra Constituency of the NPP warning the NDC party and it’s executives of being behind the self inflicted disturbances in their almost collapsed party in the Constituency.

The said news report was first aired on the afternoon news of Liberty FM on Thursday, 14th April 2022 and subsequently aired on Saturday morning news edition of Peace fm respectively. The NPP blamed the NDC of organizing some people to unseat their current executives.

We are by this release stating emphatically that the allegations against us are baseless, lack logic and are intended to mislead delegates to vote in their direction.

Also, the same faceless individuals has in time past accused their Regional Minister and Chairman of also organizing some people to unseat their current executives

This clearly suggest confusion and inconsistencies amongst their front which only speaks of defeat.
We however did not bring thugs and instructed them to beat, shoot to kill their own party members some of which are Polling station Executives. These Polling Station Executives are the same people to decide their fate, your guess is as good as mine.

We never at any point in time asked their MP Alex Tetteh to intimidate his own party members whom he perceived as enemies within. He also prevented them from contesting during their polling station election which unfortunately for him, most of them won and are now delegates to decide the fate of their current executives in the upcoming Constituency Conference.

In conclusion, we in the NDC are clear in our minds that, looking at the abysmal performance of their overhyped Member of Parliament we are going to take back our seat and bring real development to the good people of Sefwi Akontombra Constituency and will not be distracted with this kind of unfounded allegations.

Thank you
